CAN I PICKUP MY ORDER BEFORE 12PM?
Order pickups are strictly from 12pm. We are extremely busy making desserts ready for the shop to open at 12pm so we cannot guarantee earlier pick ups.

DO WE USE UBER EATS ETC?
Yes! You can find us on the Uber Eats app and the Door Dash app.

CAN I FREEZE MY DESSERTS?
Yes! Our cheesecakes can be put in the freezer & defrosted in the fridge or eaten frozen. We wouldn’t recommend freezing banoffees, trifle or ambrosia. Steam puddings can be frozen and defrosted / heated up in the microwave.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO THE $70 TRAYS FEED?
DIMENSIONS: 330 x 65mm
This is of course depending on the appetite of the people you are feeding but on average they will feed 10-20 people.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO THE $40 BOWLS FEED?
DIMENSIONS: 210 x 80 mm.
This is of course depending on the appetite of the people you are feeding but on average they will feed 4-8 people.

HOW DO I RECYCLE THE PLASTIC CONTAINER?
Our dessert tubs and made from Number 5 ♷ PP plastics. These are easy to recycle plastic and can go into your recycling bin. These are ground up, melted and remanufactured into raw material pellets. These raw material pellets are then on-sold to other plastic manufacturers to enable them to make new products as part of our growing Kiwi Circular Economy. The recycled, remanufactured raw material can now be processed into many other other useful items, such as building materials, gardening supplies, clothing and packaging.

WHY DO WE NOT USE COMPOSTABLE PLASTIC?Compostable alternatives often require processing in a commercial composting facility to break down. These are not available everywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand. In general, bio-based plastics behave in a similar way to conventional plastics and will not degrade in the same way as their original source material. If these plastics become litter they can harm wildlife in the same way as conventional fossil fuel plastic products. We prefer plastic containers that are easily recyclable in NZ

No, we don’t have any shipping due to courier restrictions on effective temperature control and the lack of suitable affordable packaging in New Zealand.

WHY IS THERE NO SHIPPING?
We have tried to get shipping done so many times but when everything is almost done we get too busy. But currently there are a lot of restrictions around shipping perishable food and there is a lack of sustainable affordable temperature control & packaging in New Zealand which would make shipping very expensive. Hopefully with advances in technology and automation we will have solutions in the near future.

DO YOU OFFER BULK OR WHOLESALE ORDERS?
Not at this time. There are a lot of restrictions & requirements when selling B2B we are in the process of doing them but we’ve been to busy to finish.

Nope, sorry we are flat out getting the shop and orders ready and we do not have time to open earlier

CAN I COLLECT MY ORDER EARLY?
Nope! We are incredibly pushed for time so we schedule every thing and have very strict workflows so we can get everything done when required. We add your dessert to the schedule based on your pickup time so if you turn up early it will not be ready, and we will be working on something else.

CAN I CHOOSE MULTIPLE FLAVOURS IN ONE MINI CATERING BOX?
No sorry, the mini catering boxes are only available in one flavour per box.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR STORE?
Mama’s Desserts was originally a dessert stall at the Auckland night markets. What started as a fun way to teach the kids how to do the mahi get the treats it quickly turned into a thriving business. Then Covid hit and we were exhausted from the gruelling 3am till midnight work days & decided to take an extended break from the night market to put our efforts into our shop in Papatoetoe, we’re still enjoying the break.!

Yes, Mama’s desserts is a small family owned & operated business.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?Cancellations are at the company’s discretion; We require minimum 48 hours notice of cancellation for orders under $500 and 72 hours for orders over $500 as we will have to cancel ordering in extra stock.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET TO PICK UP MY DESSERT?
If you do not pick up your order on the day you selected firstly come in the next day or send us a text and we will store it if we have the space otherwise your order will be discarded with no refund. Keep in mind orders are made fresh on the day you selected for pickup, they are put aside ready & waiting to be picked up. These are your desserts we don’t remake them if you forget to pick them up or you turn up when we are closed.

We do not do exchanges due to health and safety regulations. Returns / refunds are only if we are at fault.

DO YOU ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO REQUEST AND MANAGE THEIR OWN RETURNS?
No as we sell perishable food products we do not accept returns or exchanges except when we are at fault. Therefore all returns must be considered by a staff member. No exchanges or returns if you change your mind or don’t like the flavour etc
